(Saturday)The Greater Philadelphia Association of Chinese Computer Professionals (PCCP) and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association at University of Penn (CSSAP) will co-host a lecture by prominent Chinese businessman, Dr. James Chan, about his 20 years of experience assisting US companies to do business throughout Asia. Drawing upon his first-hand experiences described in "Spare Room Tycoon: The 70 Lessons of Sane Self Employment," Dr. Chan will discuss how to build a successful, independent business based on personal passions and values.
"Mr. Chan is an inspirational independent businessman who has acquired invaluable life lessons," said Andy Dai, President of PCCP, the Philadelphia Chapter of Association of Chinese Computer Professionals (ACCP). "To be in business for yourself in today's economic climate is admirable and this presentation will offer an important resource to the Korean and Chinese business communities." President of Asia Marketing & Management, Chan became his own "spare room tycoon" by identifying his own strengths and transforming his own passion to a useful service for over 100 US based companies. Born and educated in China, he created a consulting company that would offer advice and guidance to enterprises seeking to develop new business opportunities in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan.
"CSSAP is delighted to be collaborating with PCCP/ACCP for this great event. Mr. Chan is a well known businessman and we are honored he will be joining us for this event," says Jane Nie, President of CSSAP. "Mr. Chan's book offers invaluable knowledge to individuals looking to succeed in today's market."
